The Indie Killers

Indie Killers and The Big Brother Wedding

Last week the Indie Killers were invited to perform at The Big Brother wedding to be shown later this year on Chanel 4. Mario and Lisa who were on Big Brother 9 were married at a secret location in Kent before the evening shinanigans began. The IK’s took to the stage after the band Coverstar (who were awesome, check them out on www.coverstarband.co.uk) and began their usual destruction of jumping on tables and accosting guests in front of journos and photographers from OK! magazine and other celebs.

“The Indie Killers were absolutely brilliant with so much energy. Thank you so much for coming and performing at our wedding guys” Lisa

You might have noticed the guys in OK! Magazine this week, you can’t really miss them as they stick out like a sore thumb. Does OK! bring some celeb style and class to The Indie Killers or have the Indie Killers brought a touch of smelly rock and roll to the celebs…. Who knows however we do know that everyone had a blast and the guys would like to say a massive congrats to Mario and Lisa (as well as all of their friends) who were a truly lovely bunch of guys.

PEAS!

The IK boys rock Ride across Britain

At the weekend the Indie Killers boys took a trip down to Lands End to play a charity festival for ‘Deloitte Ride Across Britain’ where 1000 riders finished their adventure after leaving John O’ Groats 9 days previously and cycling on average 115 miles each day….CRAZY NUTTERS!!!

Damo commented ‘Today I saw 1000 men’s special places in lycra and I feel a bit more knowledgeable about the human form, it was like looking at a Kentucky Fried Chicken in a bag giveaway!’

The stage was overlooking the sea and the amazing Cornish coast line, the guys played while the sun set which was a better site that the moves of the very achey stiff dancers….. MJ would have been turning in his grave!

Big thanks to the Hungerford girls for all of their help and to whoever made the cider which was fantastic!

Indie Killers open for England v France

This week the Indie Killers were invited to open for the Rugby League Challenge cup in Leigh stadium. England V France with 10’000 people in attendance. England destroyed the French team 60-6 but the boys didn’t have time to watch the match as they were off to the next gig soon after playing.

Damo : It was the hottest day of the year and we were right in the middle of the pitch. Half way through the set the whole of the England team came sprinting out of the tunnel straight at us. It was rather intimidating as balls flew over over our heads and there were rugby players running all around us while we were rocking out.

As the boys were leaving the pitch, England’s

man of the moment Sam Tomkins gave the boys the thumbs up and a smiling ‘Rock and Roll guys’ before scoring a record equalling 4 of the 11 tries of the match.

There was just enough time for the boys to sign a few match programmes on their way out before they were on their way to the next adventure. big thanks to Pete Nuttall who looked after the guys and masterminded all of the entertainment and kept everything running like clockwork! Cheers Pete…we salute you!

Manchester Uni Mash up!

Luke turned up at my place at 6.55am looking like he had been sat on by Charlotte Church (and not in a good way). Although he looked unamused at the time of day and the rain I could tell he was secretly excited about being back at Manchester Uni again.

How amazing is it when 2 girls get dressed up as sumo chickens and beat the snot out of each other? ITS AWESOME!!! Free burgers, student priced booze, inflatable games, XFM DJ’s, and of course stage invasions from drunk students wanting to get in on the performance made this year even better than last year.

Big thanks to Tor for inviting us up again and for looking after us so well and also a big thanks to Bec for all your help on the day.

Fingers crossed we will be back next year for another party and also we hope to come up to 5th Avenue in the next few months. Anyone who goes for a night out in Manchester…5th Avenue is the best alternative club we have been to!

Keep in touch on fb guys!

Lisa and Ross’ big day

On ……..

Indie Killers

The Indie Killers with Ross and Lisa

Lisa and Ross really know how to throw a party!

I don’t think we have ever played so many requests, from Take That, to Rage Against the Machine, Metallica to Girls Aloud. We even got joined on stage by a guy called ‘Hulk’…. with a name like that we were hardly likely to stop him! What a legend though, he sung some songs, got semi naked and threw some awesome rock poses! We’re thinking of an IK/Hulk single collaboration later in the year.

Big thanks to everyone for such an amazing night (and a big shout out to the world’s youngest breakdancer) and thanks for looking after us so well, let’s have another Polegate party soon and do it all over again!  Big love to Ross and Lisa!

Stuart Cable, The Indie Killers salute you!

Ruth and James wedding in Cheshire

The Happy Couple..... and Ruth and James

Damo and Luke after the gig

The Indie Killers boys ventured up to Cheshire on Thursday stopping on the way for a cup of tea with Matt, Tracey and Charlotte from Warble Entertainment (the real genius behind the bands success). Could this have been a more beautiful day for a party… I submit that it could not!

The boys had an awesome night, played far too many requests including Rage’s Xmas number 1 (still such a contradiction) while the whole dancefloor erupted with ‘F*** you i wont do what you tell me’.

Thanks to everyone who came to party with us and made James and Ruth’s day such a memorable one.

Indie Killers rock St Martins college

What a weekend! The Indie Killers started off in The Hassocks in Hassocks where the guys played some new tunes and Damian rocked so hard he f***ed his neck and has been walking around like Mr Burns since. If anyone is in the East or West Sussex region and want to see the boys play there are going to be plenty more gigs here as the crowd were amazing!

Saturday The Indie Killers played at St Martins college, where the boys played for their graduation ball. As Dave Neale was away playing on The Graham Norton show, Old Boy Ryan Holt stepped in to smash some drums. The gig was huge with at least 6 stage invasions by many drunk students…See the flikr page for the crazy action on the indie killers website. We have definately made some new friends and are going to try and get a gig in St Martins SU to see you guys again!

Sunday was The Roxy in Ulverston in The Lake District, where the boys stopped off to visit a few old friends met at gigs at a local pub to play boys against girls pool.. unfortunately the boys are rubbish at pool and the girls cheated and they won! Pffft! Thanks to Louisa Thornley for the invite, we’re defo up for your indie killers birthday party!!

The Roxy in Ulverston is a truly amazing venue with a great stage and soundsystem. We really hope to come back and play there again in the next 2-3 months and say thanks to Liz and the gang for looking after us so well.

Watch this space for the next gig in The Roxy………..

For now peas out!! or as Ryan would say geyayamsaah! Drummers eh….they are all just a little special!
